Let’s talk about me

So what two characteristics do you think are most like me?

Of course, everything in this blog, one way or another, is about me.

But I admit to being utterly fascinated by tests that supposedly explain me. For instance, at my last work conference, the speaker gave us a test to see what our individual communication styles are. The choices were:

Driver (dominant, bottom line, panther)
Expressive (influencing, needs interaction, peacock)
Amiable (steady, wants nice & fair, dolphin)
Analytical (careful, detailed, owl)

So what two characteristics do you think are most like me?
Take your cursor over the info below and block it to read. I’ll also put these in the answers 24 hours from now.

I picked expressive and analytical.

The test picked amiable (48 points), expressive (39); analytical got 10 points, and driver got 1..

Discuss.

OH, and if you want the code for whiting out the text, let me know that too.

  1. I initially opted for expressive and amiable going from your posts, but was also tempted expressive and analytical, knowing your eye for detail.

The problem with most of these tests is that it assumes we think and act in the same way all the time and in a all situations which isn’t necessarily so. The best (ie most fun) self-discovery test I took part in was the Enneagram which claims to take account of this.

  2. Why don’t they have REAL choices? Like “grumpy” and “unfair” and “good for a laugh” and “unabashed sex fiend”? I mean, let’s get real, Roger!

OK, I didn’t look yet, but I’m going with expressive and analytical. The expressive part, obviously because you have this blog and go all out with your posts. The analytical shows as well, since you research your information so well and present it accurately and with intent. Now I’ll go up and see, hang on a sec…

WOW! Pleasant surprise there. You must have been pleased. See, I TOLD you they’d get “unabashed sex fiend” in there somewhere!! LOL Amy
