Not playing Wordle on TV

Connections Online Quiz League

When it was announced in May 2026 that there would be a Wordle game show on broadcast television, hosted by the TODAY Show’s Savannah Guthrie, a bunch of folks, including people I knew IRL, posted on social media that they would LOVE to be on the program. But not me.  I’m not playing Wordle on TV.

I can spend an inordinate amount of time weighing my word options. Surely, I couldn’t do that on the air. One of the things I’m most happy about is that I was on JEOPARDY long before social media was around, dissecting every missed choice, each stutter.

Nah, I’ll play at home because I’m still holding on to the extremely faint hope that I can break my previous win streak.

(But I MIGHT join a Connections Online Quiz League.)

My last 100 games: 0 1s, 14 2s, 52 3s, 27 4s, 7 5s, 0 6s(!) for an average of 3.27. Average over 1600 games is 3.728.

After the second choice, I had no good idea, so I used a plural, even though I was pretty certain it would not be the answer. It helped a lot.
